In 2011, under the auspices of the United Nations, March 21, was officially adopted as World Down Syndrome Day.
Since then, our organization, in partnership with Down Syndrome International, has been conducting awareness and publicity campaigns.
Why socks?
Socks become a symbol of Down Syndrome because of their chromosome similarity, the idea took the form of a campaign. By wearing colored socks, people attract the attention of those around them and become disseminators of information. The aim of the event is to inform the public, raise awareness and gain support.
